Delegates to Michigan ’s Sons of The American Legion State convention held in Grand Haven, Michigan on Sunday, June 9, 2013, elected Mike Boughner of the Charlton/Polan Sons of the American Legion Squadron 233 in Lake Orion , Michigan as the 2013 – 2014 State Commander.

Boughner, a 12 year member of the Sons of The American Legion gained his eligibility through his father, a Vietnam War veteran who served in the United States Army.

Commander Boughner has been a Michigander all of his life. Born is Pontiac , Michigan . He moved to Lake Orion where he still lives today.  Mike is married to Jacquelynn and has 3 daughters, Melissa 30, Holly 27, and Julie 24.

The Sons of The American Legion Detachment of Michigan represents over 20,000 members in the State of Michigan . The Sons of The American Legion was founded in 1932 as a program of The American Legion.
