Aquire Funding For HyperBaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Availability For Veterans With Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________Appropriate funds to support a statewide pilot program for Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Currently, ten states (OK, AZ, TX, IN, KY, NC, FL, WY, VA, MD) have enacted HBOT treatment legislation. A total of 2O+ Institutional Review Board HBOT clinical medical trials have been completed since 2007, all demonstrating safety and efficacy of HBOT for Veterans suffering from TBI/PTSD. The “signature wounds” of Iraq and Afghanistan are Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), affecting an estimated 877,450 Veterans.
