Provide Free Lifetime Access to Michigan State Parks For Veterans, Gold Star Family Members and Active Duty Military
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________Provide all veterans, active-duty military, and Gold Star family members free access to State of Michigan Parks and Department of Natural Resources boat ramps. In Governor Whitmer's 2024 State of the State address, she said that Lifetime access into Michigan State Parks for Veterans is a priority for her administration. This can be done with the least amount of cost using existing forms of veteran identification. However, for a limited number of Veterans and Gold Star families a new system to identify them to State parks and Department of Natural Resources boat ramps may be needed.
