The State Of Michigan Will Require Anyone Filing Claims On Behalf Of Veterans Be A V.A. Accredited Veteran Representative. Pass Legislation To Enable Prosecution Of Those Who Assist Or File V.A. Claims Without V.A. Accreditation

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Michigan needs a state law to prohibit anyone other than the Veteran, or an accredited Veteran Service Officer, from filing or assisting in filing claims for Veterans living in Michigan. State Legislators should pass legislation that will require the State attorney General and County Prosecutors the ability to prosecution of anyone charging any fee for assisting a Veteran or claimant residing in Michigan in preparing or filing any VA claim - other than Department of Veteran Affairs accredited Lawyers who have had their contract approved by the V.A. or accredited Veteran Service Officers receive training and are certified.

Accredited Veteran Service Officers do this work free of charge to the Veteran. The use of this free service should be spelled out in any legislation and Lawyers who charge a fee should be required to first tell a veteran of this free service.
