The Department 30-day meeting is the second meeting of the Department Executive Committee. At one time this second meeting was to be held within 30-days of the close of the annual convention in June. At the 2017 Department Annual Convention the Department By-Laws were amended to allow the meeting to be held the day before going to the National Annual Membership Workshop.
This meeting is used by the department commander to approve committee appointments and chairmen positions. This is an opportunity for chairman of committees to layout their goals for the coming membership year.
After regular business is completed the department adjutant conducts a training to teach the members of the DEC their roles and responsibilities. How to file paperwork properly and to other procedural aspects of their positions.
