Department 3rd Zone Commander - Tim Shosey
I am a dedicated veteran of the American Legion Post 4 in Mt. Clemens, MI since 2010, I have demonstrated exceptional commitment to my fellow veterans through my extensive service in multiple leadership roles. At the Post level, I’ve served as Historian, 2nd Vice Commander, 1st Vice Commander, and Post Commander. I have also held additional responsibilities in the American Legion 7th District, where I served as Sergeant at Arms, Finance Officer, and Commander.
My service to my community, State and nation began long before the American Legion. A graduate of Brighton High School, Class of 1980, I attended Ferris State University before enlisting in the United States Army in 1982. I served through 1985 in the United States Army Signal Corps (USASC) as a 31M20 Army Multichannel Transmission Systems Operator. Following my military service, I built a successful 41-year career in Information Technology.
Whether serving my country in uniform, building a career in technology, or leading fellow veterans in the American Legion, I exemplify a lifetime of service and dedication.

I was raised along by my sister and brother by our Grandparents. They were very conservative and taught me to stand up in what I believed in. I was proud of our country and the sacrifices our soldiers made to give us the freedoms we enjoy. I always knew there was a soldier inside.
I joined the United States Air Force and was first a Security Policeman. I crossed trained into Graphics and re-enlisted. That’s when I met a young airman that has been by best friend and wife for over 44 years. She is a USAF brat and I am a spouse so we both have dual membership in the Legion and the Auxiliary. We are both PUFLs with 12 years in the Legion.
At post level I have served as a Adjutant at 2 posts. I am the Post Commander at my post. At District level I have been a Sergeant of Arms, Adjutant, Judge Advocate, 1st Vice Commander and Commander. I also have been 1st Vice President of my Auxiliary unit twice.
My goal is to help posts develop and attract young veterans. Let them know we are the Legion Family and we are here for them and their families.
