$32,700 scholarship to attend Columbia Southern University
The American Legion, Department of Michigan family is the largest veteran organization in the state of Michigan with over 100,000 members. Our Learning Partnership with Columbia Southern University (CSU) since 2022 will provide mutually supporting benefits and provide educational opportunities to the members of The American Legion Department of Michigan, the Auxiliary Department of Michigan, and the Sons of the American Legion, their spouses, and their dependents.
Starting March 1, 2023 until May 1, 2023 any American Legion Department of Michigan family member in good standing can apply for a $32,700 scholarship to attend CSU. The scholarship will be directly applied to the recipient’s tuition for up to 60 semester hours or 36 consecutive months in the selected online degree program, whichever comes first. This scholarship covers tuition only. Textbooks and fees are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient.
Furthermore, NEW American Legion members are eligible to take a free class a value of $770. If other American Legion members have an interest please contact State Adjutant and current CSU student Runyan.
Application Period: The scholarship opens on March 1, 2023
Applications must be completed and returned by May 1, 2023. An awardee will be selected and presented their scholarship at the Michigan American Legion Annual Convention.
